Success Story
When not working as a trailer and equipment salesman, fifty-eight-year-old Tim Herrera from Sidney, Nebraska, loves to camp, fish, travel, and attend Colorado Rockies games. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, Bitsie, his six children, 11 grandchildren, and three dogs.
Tim’s activities recently were brought to a halt after he suffered a stroke which left him with weakness on the right side of his body, a shuffling gait, and right-sided facial drooping.
After initial his treatment, Tim’s sister-in-law, a physical therapist at Northern Colorado Rehabilitation Hospital (NCRH), recommended NCRH for his continued recovery. She shared that the hospital is Joint Commission-certified in stroke rehabilitation.
Tim worked with determination during his rehabilitation, setting a goal to walk longer distances again.
“I see myself making improvements every day,” Tim says. “The therapy is amazing; I love that the therapy is one-on-one. The staff is great, very attentive, honest, and cares about me. Dr. Witek is very informative and knowledgeable. It’s been truly a wonderful experience.”
Tim looks forward to returning home to his everyday activities and getting stronger so he can travel again with his wife.
